Parasites in fish we catch. What would you do ?
A few days ago, we received a publication of our colleague Momo Acevedo. We made a publication of the photograph, and we leave the video for this entry. A nice release of a swordfish, as you can see.
I was surprised to see some appendages that the fish had as it swam, which I had never seen before.
The first option, as always, is Google, and I started to find out about this strange thing that the fish had, and asked myself a series of questions that I could not find answers to anywhere.
It is a parasite. I copy what I found on the internet.
According to an article, it is a Penella. A parasite that attaches to the body. More common in Mediterranean swordfish.
I leave some questions.
What would you do if you came across such a capture? What is the right thing to do ? Can you kill the fish if you remove them?
