System 002 / "Jenny
At the end of July 2021, we return to the Great Pacific Garbage Patch (GPGP) to test System 002, the latest version of our ocean clean-up system. It is our first large-scale clean-up system. The 12-week test campaign has been successfully completed: we have now reached proof of technology. System 002 will continue to collect plastic in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch and, in tandem, we will begin work on System 003, an improved and larger ocean system, which is expected to be the preliminary design for scaling up to a fleet of systems.
