ZOKAS AND TAIRUBBER FISHING
Prepare a successful fishing trip with ZOKA and TAIRUBBER.
TAIRUBBER
Fishing with "tai rubber" refers to the fishing technique used to catch the fish known as "tai" (red snapper) in Japan. Tai rubber refers to rubber or vinyl lures specifically designed to imitate the small fish on which the tai feeds, which are lowered to the bottom by means of a lead generally round and pierced in the middle, through which the line is passed and to which the vinyl hooks are attached.
Here are some basic steps for fishing with tai rubber:
Equipment: You will need a light to medium fishing rod with a smooth action and a suitable reel. Choose a fishing line that has adequate strength for the size of fish you are targeting.
Lures: Thai rubbers are rubber or vinyl lures that resemble small fish. They come in different colors and sizes, so choose those that are appropriate for the size of the fish you hope to catch. The lead or weight will depend on the depth at which you want to fish.
Fishing technique: Fishing with tai rubber is usually done from a boat or a platform near the shore. Cast the lure into the area where you think there are fish and slowly retrieve it, imitating the movement of a wounded or swimming fish. You can also make small jerks or pauses in the retrieve to mimic more realistic movements.
The fish we are looking for are usually found near underwater structures such as reefs, rocks or areas with strong currents. Look for these areas and concentrate on casting near them.
Patience: Fishing can take time and patience. You may need to try different lures, colors, sizes and locations before you find success. Observe the behavior of the lure and fish on your sonar and make adjustments in your approach accordingly.
We can use a zoka ball, without a fixed hook, with the same skirts of the tairubber as shown in the picture.
ZOKA BALL
The zoka balls are specially designed for live fishing, mainly with cuttlefish or squid, being probably the most effective fishing technique available. In it, we fix the "butt" of the squid / cuttlefish to the main hook next to the lead, which can be fixed integrated in the lead or attached by means of a ring and be able to be removed, and we adapt the length of the assists to the desired size that normally will give us the size of the bait, fixing them in the head or tentacles of the squid / cuttlefish. It is also known as Zoka Ball or simply Zoka. We show you in a photograph the assembly:
Any of the 2 techniques we have shown you today, are very effective because they activate the fish in periods of low activity when they do not eat our jigs. Therefore it is always good to have a second plan in our fishing days (or a first plan with these techniques).
